If you were stuck for a reason to come to Galway in the coming week then let me help you decide!
The Galway Theatre Festival is on at the moment in Galway but that’s not to say that the theatre scene in Galway isn’t always buzzing. You’re guaranteed a good show every week in the Town Hall Theatre. Here’s a selection of what they have on offer:
“What Men Want” by Peadar de Burca takes to the main stage from November 6th – 8th at 8pm, taking a cheeky look at the motivation of the less fair of the sexes. Peadar’s been incredibly busy lately. His current hit, “Like a Virgin” is selling out at the moment. Hilarious, at times a little disturbing but never overly sentimental is how I’d describe it! But go see it for yourself!
“Why Men Cheat”, also by de Burca is neatly packed in between these two works and you can see it in the Town Hall Studio from October 29th to November 1st at 8.30pm.
If you’ve had enough of Peadar, then not to worry, the Town Hall are also showing something a little more traditional with Swan Lake from October 26th – 28th.
You can see all this information and more here.
And for something a little different you can check out Matt Kirshen, winner of the Comedy Store King of Kings Award, at the Laugher Lounge at the Roisin Dubh on Wednesday October 29th at 9pm. Click here for further details.
And if Poetry is your thing, why not pop along to Poetry Slams in the Ruby Room at the Kings Head for some amateur poetry with prises for the best poetry on the night. Best of all its free admission. Starts Tuesday 28th of October at 7pm.
